Making it Lovely, one of my most favorite blogs, is doing a huge giveaway! So exciting! 150,000 rewards points from American Express to redo a social space. When we have our Home Fellowship groups twice a month the kitchen is the starting place but we always end up in the front living room to wind down before everyone goes home. (See the pics, after a rearrange this weekend, this is the pace I'd like to redo along with the joined dining room that isn't pictured, it's really one big room.) As much as I love that we got a nearly new, free sofa and loveseat I've never been a fan of the shabby chic print. My style is more with the window treatments you see that my husband did. Our room needs serious color, wall accessories and some serious design inspiration. Nicole Balch at Making it Lovely, is the perfect person to gain that inspiration from, she has amazing talent and I greatly covet her home. :-) visit www.makingitlovely.com to see all she can do! You all know my challenges with losing my sight, so you have to know that the ability to see, literally SEE, this happen in my home would be a dream come true!

Morgans Tigger Cake
This is what she wanted! It was pretty easy to do. Just like connect the dots! I used a Tigger cake pan and the handy dandy, old-fashioned star tip.

Memorial Day Picnic 2009
Memorial Day Picnic Cake 2009 - The hamburgers are made from Snickers mini's and Nilla Wafers and the hotdogs are made from Starburst candies and Nilla Wafers, the ants are chocolate chips and frosting. I got the idea from the M&M's website, only they used brown M&M's for the ants. I had fun making this but I ran out of red frosting. Can you see the square that's missing the frosting? I wanted to do this out of the baking pan but I needed to be able to easily transport it to the picnic so it stayed in the pan. I could have done better on the red squares, but I knew I was running out of frosting. I can't remember now what flavor the cake was... but everyone did enjoy it!
Welcome!
Welcome to Have Your Cake! This is a place for me to share the cakes I've made. No other agenda than that right now. I really just want a place to have all my pictures and memories of cake making in one place.
